In
addition to the Madison,
the Ranch is rich with
creeks and ponds. On the
south end of the property,
Standard Creek has west
slope cutthroat and brown
trout, while on the north
end, Horse Creek has west
slope cutthroats, brown
trout and a few brook
trout and offers some
very nice pools. Surrounded
by dense willows, these
streams are a hidden oasis
of fish and small wildlife.
The Spring, Beaver, Homestead,
Fire and Nipmuck ponds
are stocked with west
slope cutthroat, while
the shallow Smiling Moose
pond has the most water
fowl.
Sun West Ranch has
joined the “Stop
Aquatic Hitchhikers!” program
to help raise public
awareness about the threat
of aquatic invasive species.
More information about
the “Stop
Aquatic Hitchhikers!” program
is available at the campaign
website.
